Scouting For Girls have announced a five date Irish tour this April to celebrate the release of their new album "Everybody Wants To Be On TV."

In 2008, Scouting For Girls became the biggest selling new band of the year in the UK. Having toiled for ten years unsigned, the three boys next door sold over 900,000 records of their eponymous number 1 debut album, and were nominated for three Brit Awards (British Breakthrough Act, British Single (Heartbeat), and British Live Act, to become the UK’s most successful new pop band.

Scouting for Girls release their new single This Aint A Love Song on 26th March with their album, Everybody Wants to Be On TV following on April 9th.

David O Doherty (Thurs March 4th) is just plain evil and proves it by attemptimg to give musical comedy a good name? Dublin's David not only attempts this malevolent feat, but succeeds to the point of very nearly elevating this stand-up subgenre to true art. Tickets are €14/12 and on sale now.

Just announced - UK singer songwriter Kate Walsh has been confirmed as special guest to Mick Flannery on his Irish tour this December!

UK singer songwriter Kate Walsh returns to Ireland in November and December with an extended tour supporting Cork’s finest son, Mick Flannery. With 14 dates around Ireland including Vicar Street in Dublin on November 7th and New Years Eve in The Opera House in Cork, Walsh is looking forward to the opportunity to play in front of Irish audiences.

And getting into the festive spirit, Kate and Mick have recorded a new single, Ghost Of Christmas Past which will be released in late November on EMI Records. Kate has also been added to Paolo Nutini’s European tour in November.

WALLIS BIRD

has today announced a national tour for this October to coincide with the Summer release of her great new album "New Boots". She plays Dolans Warehouse on Saturday October 24th with her band.

Wallis’ new album “New Boots” is released 26th July on Rubyworks and features the single “To My Bones” which is out now. An upbeat, life-affirming anthem: “To My Bones” is already a likely contender for the feel-good hit of the summer.

Says Wallis: ‘I wrote that song after one amazing night I had with my friends, where I realised how much fun I have on this earth. I’m always kissing strangers, making friends with them. I love meeting people, getting them to step out of their skin – get them to do a limbo in a pub! So that’s in To My Bones - I wanted for a long time to write about how much enjoyment I get from my life”.

The dB and Roots Factory crews bring Limerick another all day reggae event in Dolans this Saturday July 25th from 2pm

The Gig Chillum will be taking over the outside and upstairs of Dolans from 2.00pm as the Roots Factory battle the dB crew in an all sound war followed by a full on audio -visual -dub encompasing experience that is Wiggle. Wiggle will be on stage at 8pm so don't be late!

Dublin trio The Minutes have gigged extensively in Ireland and the UK. Touring with the likes of Albert Hammond Jnr (The Strokes) and The Pigeon Detectives, and playing support to Fountains Of Wayne and Supergrass to name a few. The Minutes are currently working with renowned producer Gareth Mannix, whose previous production credits include Republic of Loose and Humanzi.

THE BLIZZARDS play All-Ages show this November

The Blizzards return to Dolans on Sunday Nov 23rd to play their first ever All Ages gig in the Treaty city. Their catchy tunes have helped them reach huge popularity with the under 18s and they are delighted to finally have get the chance to play to their younger Limerick fans.

Doors will be at 5pm on the day with tickets costing €15. Under 12s must be accompanied by an adult. Downstairs will be an alcohol free zone.

From the boys at STRUTT who run monthly dance gigs here in Dolan's the big news is that they are happy to announce Ireland's only all day Techno festival this Summer!

A first for Ireland, TECHFEST will see some of the worlds leading pioneers of the techno scene join forces and come together with more of Irelands brightest for a one day event that will be a very welcome addition to Ireland’s pulsating electronic music scene and busy festival calendar. Already being quoted as Ireland's answer to “I Love Techno”, the line up says just that. Set in the agricultural surroundings of Offaly’s Thatch Venue in Rahan, Tullamore the event is certain to bring with it an industrial feel reminiscent of the very foundation on which techno has been laid. The venues open air space along with its large covered stage area plus four full bars as well as an array of great food available throughout the day, its certain to ensure the perfect setting for Irelands only all day Techno event this summer. This is the first of it's kind!

Jack is back!

The gorgeous Kildare crooner returns to Dolan's on Saturday March 15th with his band for another sure to be sellout gig. Jack had an amazing 2007 with appearances at Glastonbury and all over the U.S. under his belt.

Laura Marling's Irish tour stops off in Dolan's this December

The folk pop singer songwriter has toured with a number of indie acts in the UK including Jamie T who personally invited her on tour with him last year when he saw her play only her second ever live gig. Laura has released two EP’s on Vinyl and appeared on The Rakes track Suspicious Eyes from their second album Ten New Messages.

This summer saw her play the 02 Wireless festival and she is currently touring with Devendra Banhart before her own headline tour of Ireland in December.

Cathy Davey returns in December

Throughout October, Cathy played residencies in some of the countries best known venues including Upstairs @ Dolan's in support of her new album Tales of Silversleeve. The album was produced by Liam Howe of the Sneaker Pimps and the lead single from Reuben has received a host of airplay across radio stations nationwide. Cathy returns to The Warehouse for one night only on Tuesday December 11th.

American Music Club announce Irish Tour in January 2008

AMERICAN MUSIC CLUB , the San Francisco-based band whose poignantly dark, often desperately beautiful music garnered critical acclaim throughout the 80s and 90s, are playing Ireland! Their forty-ish date tour kicks off in Cork at the end of January and take in Limerick on January 31st, before covering several shows in Ireland and the UK, then a further eleven European countries from there. (Details of exactly where and when should appear on the band's web site pretty soon.).

The touring line-up features original members Mark Eitzel (vocals/guitar), Danny Pearson (bass), Tim Mooney (drums) and Vudi (guitar), along with new addition Marc Capelle (piano/trumpet).

Guitar Festival starts This Monday!

Well we are all very excited and looking forward to Monday here at Dolan's! It promises to be a fantastic 10 days of amazing guitar techniques / workshops and gigs from all different genres.

1) Day Pass €95 - This allows you access to one full day of the Academy. It includes the morning session from 10am - 2pm where Guitar techniques and maintenance will be taught, the workshop with the day's artist from 3pm - 5pm and entrance to the artist's gig that night.

2) Workshop Pass €45 - This allows you to attend and take part in the afternoon workshop given by the visiting artist from 3pm-5pm. (Bring your guitar!)

3) Spectator Pass €20 - This allows you to attend the afternoon workshop as a spectator.

The Aftermath to play Limerick Gig

Just announced this morning, the Mullingar based rockers are playing Upstairs at Dolan's on next Thursday July 26th as part of their nationwide tour to support their brand new single All I want for you is to be Happy. Paddy Casey Returns!

Dolan's are proud to welcome Paddy back to The Warehouse for one night only prior to the release of his eagerly awaited 3rd studio album. Dolan's, Future Sound and Vision and Cort Guitars are delighted to announce that this August 13th-24th, Limerick will host it's first ever Acoustic Guitar Festival, featuring artists such as Gordon Giltrap, Styuart Ryan and Clive Carroll. Ten artists over ten nights Monday to Friday inclusive over 2 weeks.
Tickets for the gigs can be purchased from Dolan's Website.
An All In One Gig Pass (which will get you into all 10 gigs over the 2 weeks) can be purchased from Dolan's website and will cost €135.
In conjunction with the festival, an Acoustic Academy will take place daily here in Dolan's. Each morning Acoustic Instrumental lessons will be given followed by a workshop each afternoon with the visiting artist. Last July Sharon Shannon and her big band came to Dolan's and recorded two fantastic shows for a DVD which was released last October. Now you have the chance to catch them back in Dolan's again for the Ultimate Session - this time to celebrate her 'Live at Dolan's' DVD going 4 times Platinum !!!
The band will be made up of Gerry O’Connor, Jack Maher, James Delaney, Jim Murray, Richie Buckley, Jason Duffy and Paul O'Driscoll. The show will be their final performance of the summer following on from top summer festivals in Ireland, UK, France, Spain and Portugal. The music will meld traditional, world, roots reggae, bluegrass, country with blues soul and gospel in a very unique high octane approach that will leave no-one capable of stopping their feet from stomping !
